About Me…
Hi! I’m Phoebe, a multidisciplinary designer from Bath, UK, now thriving in the San Francisco Bay Area. With 6 years of experience spanning physical and digital products, I’m eager to dive into my next design challenge and keep evolving my skills.
My design journey began with contour fashion, driven by a desire to improve existing concepts and inspired by my grandmother's expertise in sewing. At university, I gravitated towards activewear for its practicality and focus on enhancing people's lives – a sentiment that led me to UX design, because how we experience the world matters.
I moved to San Francisco in 2017 to join Old Navy's women’s activewear team. Much like UX, this role involved a lot of research, user-centric and data driven design, user testing and product management. Fashion adheres to a strict seasonal calendar, working in a fast paced and highly changable environment, taking multiple products from conception to production in just 3 months. My work at Old Navy can be found in millions of homes across 9 countries. Transitioning from activewear to UX felt natural; they both prioritize the user’s experience above all else.
Switching gears
At Mynd, a forward thinking, tech enabled property management company, I delved into the world of UX following an intensive online bootcamp. Over three years, I tackled a range of projects from B2C applications for residents, B2B products for investors and creating complex internal platform tools. I led projects from discovery to launch and future iterations.
I love to figure out the best and most logical way to do something, wether that’s organising my kitchen or creating painless digital user experiences, I don’t just want to make things better, but the best they can be.
No matter what I am designing, I am committed to staying curious, kind and rigorous. I think our role as designers is to make the internet inclusive and accessible, and that’s incredibly important.
